Victory Venkatesh In & As Narappa

Narappa, starring Telugu superstar Venkatesh, is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video on July 20. The film is a remake of Dhanush-starrer Asuran. The trailer follows the same scene pattern, emotional rage, and score that Vetri had used in the Asuran trailer. The film highlights the caste system that unfortunately still prevails in society and criticises the evil men who adorn their upper-caste title as a status symbol.

But this is not the first time Victory Venkatesh played the lead in the remake of a film. Listed below are a few movies featuring the superstar which is a remake of several Hindi and Tamil films.

This movie is a remake of the 2012 Hindi film OMG- Oh My God! Gopala Rao, played by Venkatesh, is an atheist who runs a traditional shop. He disses people, including his wife, who worship god and ask them not to blindly follow the religious textbooks. His life takes a topsy-turvy turn when the earthquake hits and his shop is in ruins. The insurance company rejects his request and blames God instead! Frustrated, he files a case against God on the premise that He is responsible for everything and it’s His responsibility to compensate for his losses.

The three Filmfare Awards testified movie, Raja is a classic remake of the 1998 Tamil movie Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen. The chemistry between Venkatesh and Soundarya was lauded by the audience. This blockbuster hit is a story of a small-time thief who is willing to put his girlfriend out of misery after understanding her critical situation. SA Raj Kumar composed the soundtrack of the film which also holds a special place in the hearts of the fans.

Guru starring Victory Venkatesh, Ritika Singh and Mumtaz Sorcar is directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by ynot productions. The movie is a remake of popular bilingual sports drama, Irudhi Suttru or Saala Khadoos starring R Madhavan in the lead role. This remake of the original version has lived up to satisfaction. The relationship between coach Aditya Rao (Venkatesh) and Ramudu offers some ravishing moments.

The film is the Telugu remake of the Tamil film Suryavamsam (1997). The righteous and the powerful leader of Suryapet Village, Harishchandra Prasad (Venkatesh) is a very respected character who has everything under his command, except his son who is a reckless young man who is not bothered in life. He is a huge disappointment in his father’s life. His life takes unpredictable turns later on. Venkatesh’s character as an old man is notable in this film.

Gharshana is a 2004 Indian Telugu-language action thriller film produced by G. Sivaraju and C. Venkatraju on Geeta Chitra International banner, directed by Gautham Menon. It is the Telugu remake of the 2003 Tamil film Kaakha Kaakha stars Suriya and Jyothika. With the stylish action sequences, foot-tapping songs and realistic setting which is not very common in Tollywood, the movie is considered one of the cult classics of all time. Venkatesh’s role as a cop was remarkable in this movie, he blended in very well.
