Written and directed by Guillermo Del Toro, Pan’s Labyrinth is a Spanish-language, dark fantasy film. Set in the summer of 1944 in Spain, the film tells the story of a young girl named Ophelia who, along with her pregnant mother, travels to meet her stepfather, a ruthless officer in the army. In an abandoned labyrinth, she meets a mythical creature who tells her that she is the reincarnation of the princess of the underworld, and gives her three tasks to do, completing which Ophelia will be allowed to return to her kingdom. The film won three Academy Awards.

Pacific Rim
