Vijay Sethupathi’s entry to mainstream films came in the later part of last decade. From his first success of Pizza, he has been known for his versatile roles. The roles which he selects are close to reality. Maybe that’s why he earned the title Makkal Selvan (The People’s Favourite).

Here is a list of Sethupathi’s comedy films. The roles vary from a driver to a kidnapper. Regardless of the film, Sethupathi succeeds in delivering every comedic punch to its effect. Be it the drunken, stalker Kumar in Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara or leader of thieves in Yamarajapuram, Sethupathi outshines the hero of the film. But the really bad part is, his wedding is tomorrow and he cannot even recognise his bride. How his friends manage to make it through the day with an amnesiac friend forms the crux of the story.

A gem in the comedy collection, the film boasts of an ensemble cast including Bobby Simha, Karunakaran, Sanchitta Shetty and MS Bhaskar. Three friends get roped in by Das (Vijay Sethupathi), a hallucinating kidnapper in a plan to kidnap a minister’s son for ransom. But unbelievably the minister does not want his son back. The foursome is stuck with the kidnapee and state police on their tails.

A caring Pannaiyaar is given an old Fiat car for safekeeping. Only problem is, he doesn't know how to drive. He hires Murugesan (Vijay Sethupathi) as driver. But now, he wants to learn driving to drive his wife to the temple. A blend of humour and rustic romance.

Harish (Gautham Karthik) falls in love with his junior Soumiya. The latter gets kidnapped by Yeman (Sethupathi), who is the leader of a tribe of thieves. Harish is confused, learning that Yeman is actually Soumiya’s uncle and he intends to marry her. Harish will stop at nothing to prevent this, except for his clumsiness, loudmouth and laziness.
