Touted as a sequel to the 2018 National Award-winning Badhai Ho, starring Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Ayushmaan Khurana, this film deals with a marriage of convenience between the central characters, Suman (played by Bhumi Pednekar) and Shardul (Rajkummar Rao). Suman is a physical instructor in her thirties, who is romantically and sexually interested in woman. She marries Shardul, a cop, to avoid the brunt of parental demands. They live as roommates but chaos and hilarity quickly follow as Suman's girlfriend starts staying with them. Seema Pahwa, Sheeba Chadha, Chum Darang, Lovleen Mishra, Nitish Pandey and Shashi Bhushan also star in signifcant roles in this Harshvardhan Kulkarni directorial that explores the notion of lavender marriage. The film promises to be a light-hearted yet pertinent take on homosexuality in a society that would rather choose to look the other way and brush it beneath the carpet. Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial have written the screenplay and it has been largely shot in Dehradun.
