Set in 1938, during the Spanish Civil War, Valley of the Dead is a Spanish zombie action film directed by Javier Ruiz Caldera and Alberto De Toro. The film sees the appearance of zombies as a result of deployment of biological warfare by Nazi Schutzstaffel on the inhabitants of a small village, which forces the Francoist and Republican forces to temporarily ally with each other to survive against the undead. The film’s cast features Miki Esparbé, Aura Garrido, Luis Callejo, Álvaro Cervantes, Jesús Carroza and María Botto.
