1000 Babies Season 2: Rahman promises a more intriguing story, S1 was just ‘icing on the cake’

The Malayalam web series 1000 Babies, which featured Bollywood actress Neena Gupta in Season 1, has been renewed for Season 2. Malayalam actor Rahman, who also appears in a key role in the JioHotstar series, promises a more intriguing story in the upcoming season. The series will be available for OTTplay Premium subscribers as well.

1000 Babies Season 2 on JioHotstar

JioHotstar confirmed that 1000 Babies would be returning for Season 2 as it unveiled its slate of upcoming releases as part of the South Unbound event. Talking on the sidelines of the event, 1000 Babies actor Rahman said, “First season was more like icing on the cake. Kadha eni thongan pokune ulu (The real story will unfold now). We couldn't finish the story in the first season as the duration would have been much longer. Second season will stay true to the genre but will have more actors and talents and the story will be more intriguing.”

Though the second season was announced, the OTT release date is yet to be confirmed. When 1000 Babies Season premieres on JioHotstar, it would also be available for OTTplay Premium subscribers as well.

During the event, JioHotstar also unveiled a glimpse of 1000 Babies with characters and sequences from Season 1. The glimpse shows the key characters of Neena Gupta as Sarah Ouseph, Sanju Sivram as her son Bibin and Rahman as cop Aji Kurian. Fans of 1000 Babies would recollect that the series revolves around Sarah Ouseph, former nurse, who appears to be delusional. She is haunted by a dark past, and her confession of the deeds forms the crux of the series, which sparks off a series of incidents. CI Aji Kurian seeks to crack the mystery. Season 1 had ended with Bibin getting killed by SI Vinod (Shaju Sreedhar).

Kerala Crime Files Season 3 was the other major announcement during JioHotstar’s southbound event, along with three new series - Anali, Roslin, Cousins & Kalyanams. Nivin Pauly's Pharma will also drop on the platform on December 19, 2025.
