We had told you that Sasikumar's cult hit film Subramaniapuram is re-releasing in theatres today across Tamil Nadu. The makers decided to present the film before the audience again on the occasion of the movie having completed 15 years recently. Samuthirakani, Jai and Ganja Karuppu, who played pivotal roles in the project, attended a celebratory event that took place in one of the theatres in Chennai today.

They spoke about their memories associated with the film and expressed excitement about the re-release. Rajinikanth's Baba and Kamal Haasan's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu were two Tamil movies that had a re-release in recent times.

As if this isn't enough, film buffs in Chennai and Coimbatore have one more reason to rejoice as a few movies of AR Rahman have also been released again. This is part of celebrating the maestro's 30th year in the industry. Sivaji, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Bigil, Mersal, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, 24 and Pathu Thala are a few movies that will be screened from August 4 to 9.

For Bollywood fans, some of his Hindi movies have also hit the screens again. Jodha Akbar, Rockstar and Raanjhanaa are available to watch on selected screens of PVR and INOX.

The re-release phenomenon has been a trend in Tollywood for quite some time, and looks like Kollywood also is keen on jumping onto the bandwagon. Vikram's Anniyan is expected to have a re-release soon. Fans are expecting an official announcement on the same.

The star took to his social media page recently to celebrate its 18th anniversary and dropped a video featuring a few sequences from the blockbuster hit.
