On June 10th, Rakshit Shetty’ much-awaited 777 Charlie is set to release in theatres. In the run-up to its date with audiences, the team revealed the film’s trailer today, which gave audiences a better understanding of what to expect. The trailer elaborated slightly more on what has already been in the public domain, with the teaser and the Torture song.
The film focuses on a loner called Dharma and his rather monotonous existence. How that changes because of a dog called Charlie, which literally adds life to Dharma’s otherwise dreary world, forms the crux of the transformative journey called 777 Charlie. Speaking at the trailer launch of the film, Rakshit, who plays Dharma and has bankrolled the film, said, “Emotionally, I have learnt a lot from this film. Today, when I have to write scripts for other films, the journey of 777 Charlie comes in handy. Honestly, I can’t explain this journey. With all my other films, everything can be explained logically, which I can’t with 777 Charlie. This was an emotional journey for me. When you do a film, as a human being, if you have no growth by the end of it, it’s a wasted effort. Ultimately, life is about growing as a human and I have had a lot of learning from the set of this film. I am also normally quite involved in all aspects of my films, irrespective of whether I am producing it. I love filmmaking. But I had come to a point, where I did not want to get involved. It was a time for introspection and I needed a break from cinema for that. This was when 777 Charlie came. Here, I have only gone to the set and done what director Kiranraj K asked of me. So, 777 Charlie is entirely Kiranraj’s baby. I have to add that anyone who has worked with Kiranraj on 777 Charlie will vouch for it that he is quite the torturer, but despite that, all that I saw was his dedication and conviction towards storytelling. To me, what mattered was whether he is true to his job and he cannot be faulted on that.”
777 Charlie, produced by Paramvah Studios, stars Rakshit Shetty, along with Sangeetha Sringeri, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Danish Sait, Raj B Shetty and Bobby Simha, among others.
