Former New Zealand cricketer, Richard Hadlee, recently watched the film and had a heartfelt message for Dev, which the latter shared on social media.

In the note, Hadlee talked about how much he enjoyed watching the film, and how its inspirational story ‘warmed his heart’. The former cricketer said that the film had given him a much deeper insight into Dev, and how the latter had motivated his team to victory in the historic match. Hadlee also appreciated Dev and Jimmy, referring to former Indian cricketer Mohinder Amarnath, for their involvement in the film as well. The latter two had also made appearances in the film.

Hadlee also picked out some of the things he thought were well done in the film, mentioning that he enjoyed Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of Dev as well.
