The Kerala Story and Bastar: The Naxal Story on ZEE5

Sudipto Sen directed the crime drama, and Adah Sharma played one of the lead roles in the film. The Kerala Story is about a group of women from Kerala who are coerced into converting to Islam.

Adah Sharma plays Shalini, who later changes her religion to Fatima Ba. The manner in which Adah Sharma goes about her role and performs in her crunch scenes is one of the highlights of the film and makes for a great watch on Zee5. Though the film was released in May 2023, it started streaming on ZEE5 only on February 16, 2024.

Next in line is Bastar: The Naxal Story. The same team of The Kerala Story reunited for Bastar and Adah Sharma once again plays the main lead. Bastar is based on the Naxalite-Maoist insurgency in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. Bastar was theatrically released on March 15, 2024. 

Once again, Adah Sharma gave a superb performance in this film, which was appreciated by all. The sad part is that Bastar flopped at the box office. Though it had realistic moments, the audience did not lap up the film, which ended as a disaster and was out of theatres in a week of its release. So, all those who love Adah Sharma in serious performances can stream these films on ZEE5 now.
