An otherwise reclusive Aamir Khan looked happy and chirpy at the 25th-anniversary celebrations of PVR Cinemas in New Delhi where he not only unveiled the brand's concept video but was also seen featuring in it. After talking about his long association with the multiplex chain, the media requested the Laal Singh Chaddha actor to stay back for a brief while and answer a few questions. To which, the superstar happily obliged.

When a journalist asked him about his reaction to all that hate his upcoming movie is receiving online—the hashtag #boycottlaalsinghchaddha has been trending across social media platforms for weeks now—he, in his usual calm demeanour, said, "Nothing. I am just keeping my fingers crossed. I am praying to the Almighty."

When the same journalist asked if he has any message for the trolls to give in true Laal Singh Chaddha style, since the movie "is about positivity", Aamir chuckled and said, "Bhai, Laal Singh Chaddha toh bohot simple aadmi hain (Bro, Laal Singh Chaddha is a very simple man) and all I would like to say is if I have hurt anyone's sentiments over anything, then I am sorry about it. Main kisika dil nahin dukhana chahta hoon. (I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings)."

He, then, went ahead and added that if a section of the audience does not want to watch the movie, he is going to respect their decision. "Kya kar sakte hain? (What can we do?) But I would like more and more people to watch the film as we have made the film with a lot of effort. And I am not the only one in the film, a film is made with thousands of people. So, I hope people like it."

Aamir Khan also revealed during the media interaction that he has not slept in 48 hours owing to his "nervousness" over his film's release, and also shared that he always watches all his releases with the audience (discreetly) to document their "unfiltered reaction".

Laal Singh Chaddha is releasing in theatres on August 11, 2022, in three Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
