Aamir Khan was recently spotted in the Northern areas of India shooting for his social drama-comedy, Laal Singh Chaddha. According to Pinkvilla, the superstar had a smooth shooting experience in Kargil with the help of local officers. It has now come to the knowledge that Aamir will team up with other filmmakers such as Rajkumar Hirani and Mahaveer Jain as they launch a new film policy to make Kashmir a favourite shoot friendly spot for Indian filmmakers.
Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha shall join them for the same. Earlier a set of leading filmmakers of India which included Imtiaz Ali, Nitesh Tiwari, Dinesh Vijan, Sanjay Tripathy, Ekta Kapoor led by Producer Mahaveer Jain had approached Manoj Sinha and Principal Secretary to the Governor, Niteshwar in Mumbai and had shared their suggestions to draft the new film policy encouraging film shooting in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir alongside Leh, Ladakh have been the key shooting spot for several Bollywood films like Laal Singh Chaddha, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Shershaah, etc, because of their aesthetics and peaceful yet picturesque atmosphere. The location has beautiful sceneries and landscapes with snow-laden and barren land being the major attractions.
Aamir has been contemplating his next film and it is the Spanish Film, Campeones (2018) which is in the front runner now. Hirani on the other hand is in the process of locking the final draft of his next directorial with Shah Rukh Khan, the shooting of which is expected to commence by Summer 2022. Hirani and Aamir have worked together on historic chartbusters like 3 Idiots and PK.
Aamir is currently wrapping up the shoot for Laal Singh Chaddha which is aiming for a 2021 Christmas release on the big screen worldwide.
