Big-banner movies clashing at the box office is a common occurrence in Bollywood, but things get all the more intense when the movies in question feature massive stars. So, it was rather surprising when Aamir Khan said that the audience should also head over to theatres and watch Akshay Kumar's movie Raksha Bandhan. Aamir speaking at an event in Delhi where he was urging people to watch Laal Singh Chaddha.

It so happened that after discussing the "beauty" of the story that is Laal Singh Chaddha, the host for PVR Cinemas' 25th-anniversary celebrations—where Aamir Khan had come as the Chief Guest—had requested the media to watch the movie in PVR theatres. That's when Aamir chimed in to say that they should watch both the films - his and Akshay's.

"... No, they should watch Raksha Bandhan, too. I have watched the trailer of the film and it was a really nice trailer. I have a feeling that the story must be nice as well. Toh woh film bhi hum sabko dekhni chahiye (So, we should be watching that film, too.) And, hopefully, both the films will do well," concluded the star, who is releasing his first film in four years, his last release being Thugs Of Hindostan which had tanked at the box office.

For the unversed, Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha features him in the titular role, with Mona Singh and Kareena Kapoor Khan playing crucial parts in the drama. It is the official Hindi adaptation of Tom Hanks' Oscar-winning 1993 movie Forrest Gump, and has been directed by Secret Superstar debutant Advait Chandan.

Laal Singh Chaddha is releasing in theatres on August 11, 2022, in three Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
