Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan is all set to marry Nupur Shikhare. The star kid's wedding festivities have begun in full swing.
Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan got engaged to Nupur Shikhare last year. In October 2023, the perfectionist of Bollywood confirmed that Ira and Nupur would get married on January 3, 2024. Two months before their big day, the couple's wedding festivities have begun. It started with a Kelvan ceremony, which is an important ritual in Marathi weddings.
Ira Khan posted a series of inside photos from the Kelvan ceremony on her Instagram handle. The star kid looked pretty in a pink saree while Nupur wore a printed kurta for the occasion.

For those who are unaware, the Kelvan ceremony is a tradition where the families of bride and groom come for a pre-wedding meal before the wedding. This ceremony was attended by Ira and Nupur's close family members. Khan's mother Reena Dutta (Aamir Khan's former wife), too, marked her presence.

Earlier, in an interview with News18, Aamir spoke about his daughter's wedding date. The superstar even revealed how Nupur stood by Ira's side when she was battling depression.
"Ira is getting married on January 3. The boy she has chosen is — waise toh pet name unka naam Popeye hai (his pet name is Popeye) — he is a trainer, he has arms like Popeye but his name is Nupur. He is a lovely boy. When Ira was battling depression, he was with her," said Aamir. The actor further mentioned he considers Nupur like his own son. He even stated that Shikhare's mother is already a part of their family.

On the work front, Aamir was last seen in Advait Chandan's Laal Singh Chaddha with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh. Unfortunately, the film failed to work wonders at the box office. Next, Khan will be seen in Sitaare Zameen Par. He will be playing the lead role in the film. The actor will also make a cameo appearance in son Junaid Khan's first production venture, Pritam Pyaare.
