Aashram plot overview

Baba Nirala (Bobby Deol), a godman, is at the centre of the plot. His adherents, drawn primarily from the lower classes, submit to his every command. The truth is that he is a scam artist whose goal is to keep his followers beholden to his ashram and his fortune. With Baba Nirala's massive fan base, politicians Hukum Singh (Sachin Shroff) and incumbent Chief Minister Sundar Lal (Anil Rastogi) are vying for his support in the forthcoming State Legislative Assembly Elections. When pop singer Tinka Singh (Adhyayan Suman) decides to tour with Baba Nirala to promote her new song, the stakes become even more intense.

In the meantime, Darshan Kumar's character, SI Ujagar Singh, is a disinterested police officer who blindly obeys his superiors' orders.
