Abbas is one of the yesteryear heartthrobs of Kollywood who became an overnight star after the huge success of Kadhal Desam. He went on to be part of a few more superhit films like Padayappa, Kandukondain Kandukondain and Pammal K Sambandam among a few.
The star, who's settled in New Zealand, has been staying away from the limelight. In an interview with Galatta Plus, the actor opened up about his trust with movies, stardom, taking a break from acting, suicidal thoughts and other topics. He also expressed interest in coming back to films.
Among all the projects he has been part of, he picked up Aanandham as his favourite; he said he thoroughly enjoyed the experience of associating with its cast and crew. He recollected working with Mammootty and the late Murali in the film and chose Pammal K Sambandam as another remarkable project in his career.
"Working with Kamal Haasan helped me improve my timing. I learnt how important timing is while doing comedy scenes. It was from Kamal sir that I learnt the importance of coming prepared to sets," he said.
Abbas confessed that he has been a laid-back person all through his life and that he does not regret taking a hiatus from acting. After overcoming suicidal thoughts, he interacted with many people who suffered from depression and he considers all those as valuable memories.
