Abhinay Deo confirmed to Mid-Day that he has met Aamir Khan numerous times to discuss Delhi Belly sequel. "We've talked many times about its possibility. It all has to fall in place. I've got a lot of ideas for it. I hope it will happen," he was heard saying.
Delhi Belly, a cult-classic that nobody believed in till it happened
Back when Delhi Belly released, it sold on Aamir Khan's name. However, the movie soon gained the status of cult-classic not only given the iconic songs (Bhaag DK Bose, I Hate You Like I Love You being a few) but also iconic dialogues and scenes (Sir, yeh toh tatti hai). It was also Aamir's collaboration with his nephew Imran Khan after Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, and thus, the movie took viewers by surprise (and they loved it). Given the script, Abhinay revealed that nobody believed in the project till it actually happened.
Aamir Khan back in films with Sitaare Zameen Par
Aamir Khan had taken a break from acting after Laal Singh Chaddha failure. The actor had shifted his base to Chennai and thus, many assumed that he had quit Bollywood altogether. However, he is now back and he's already bending the rules. In times of OTT, Aamir is releasing his movie Sitaare Zameen Par as an exclusive theatrical release. The RS Prasanna directorial, also starring Genelia Deshmukh and Darsheel Safary, will release in theatres on June 20.
