Despite the initial backlash which team Adipurush faced, they have managed to come up with comparatively better promo videos in recent times and the expectation on the film has witnessed a surge. The big budget project, starring Prabhas in the lead, is likely to take a huge opening in the Hindi circuit.
Needless to say, the Telugu states, too, are expected to register a gargantuan opening. While permission for early morning shows has been granted in Telangana, the government in Andhra Pradesh hasn't given a nod, though they will be considering a hike in ticket price in the state.
Interestingly, two territories where the movie couldn't bring in enough hype are Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Despite the fact that the former is a big market where likes of non-Tamil projects Baahubali, Pushpa, RRR and KGF attracted a huge crowd, Adipurush hasn't been able to evoke much interest.
While a few blame it on the lack of promotions from the team in Tamil Nadu, some others opine that the strictly average promo materials couldn't impress moviegoers in the state. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi in Chennai.
While Telugu shows are fast filling in Chennai, which isn't a surprise, Tamil shows are yet to pick up especially in single screens. The city offers 2D and 3D versions in all the three languages. Prabhas' Saaho, which was released in Tamil and Telugu in the state, garnered a good opening while his previous outing Radhe Shyam, was outrightly rejected.
Fans of Prabhas are looking forward to seeing how much Adipurush would gross in Tamil Nadu on day one. If the movie opens to positive word of mouth, it is likely to end up as the star's second grosser in Tamil Nadu, next to Baahubali 2.
