Debutant director Zac Harriss’ ambitious bilingual titled Adrishyam in Malayalam and Yuki in Tamil is finally set to release after completing its shoot last year. The Malayalam version of the film has a stellar cast led by Narain, Joju George, Sharafudheen and Athmiya Rajan in the lead.

The movie is touted to be a drama-thriller that was shot predominantly in Chennai and Pondicherry. The Tamil version, Yuki, has Kathir, Anandi and Natarajan Subramaniam as part of its cast, apart from Narain.

At a time when films are being dubbed instead of made differently in two languages, Zac said in an earlier interview with OTTplay that he opted for his mode because while the basic storyline is the same in both Tamil and Malayalam, he didn’t want to lose the soul of the content by dubbing it, especially when he had the choice of making it with another cast and tweaking the story taking into account the sensibilities of the audiences of both languages.

The Malayalam film, which also has Pavithra Lekshmi, Anandhi, Pratap Pothen, John Vijay, Sinil Sainudeen and Anjali Rao, is set to hit theatres on November 18. The film’s story evolves in Chennai, making it familiar to the audience in Malayalam too, he said. Zac said that it would be fair to call both Adrishyam and Yuki as two different films as the performance meters for the artistes are also different along with the dialogues and character rendering.

The movie, which is written by Packiaraj Ramalingam and shot by Pushparaj Santosh, is produced by Siju Mathew, Navis Xaviour, Rajadas Kurias, Lavan and Kusan. Ranjin Raj, who had composed music for Joseph and Pathaam Valavu, is the movie’s music director while Ashish Joseph is its editor. Adrishyam is set to clash with Senna Hegde’s crime comedy 1744 White Alto, which also has Sharafudheen in the lead.
