After 12th Fail OTT release, Sonu Sood shares his review: 'Vidhu sir...you keep our cinema alive'

Actor Sonu Sood on Thursday shared his thoughts about the latest Bollywood hit film 12th Fail, which made its OTT debut recently. He heaped praises on the film, which is inspired by real-life events while appreciating director-writer Vidhu Vinod Chopra for delivering such cinematic gem. 

"So proud of you my brother @ManojSharmaIPS . Loved the film “12th Fail” which is based on your life.. @VikrantMassey you were brilliant mere bhai. @VVCFilms Vidhu sir, film makers like you keep our cinema alive," he tweeted. 

12th Fail has made a wave across the country. From Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan to Rani Mukerji to Sonu Sood, many film stars have given glowing reviews to 12th Fail.

12th Fail once again proved that good movies will always find their due in terms of critical and commercial success. Despite being released amid minimal anticipation, the film grew from strength to strength purely on the power of positive word-of-mouth. While it didn't open to packed houses, the film managed to emerge as one of the biggest hits of 2023. 

It's noteworthy that 12th Fail managed to withstand the Animal phenomenon at the box office. While the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer caught the imagination of the entire country and dominated the headlines, 12th Fail remained unfazed, slowly but steadily winning the critical acclaim and the box office game. 

12th Fail is based on the non-fiction book titled the same, which was written by Anurag Pathak. The book recounts the seemingly endless struggles endured by IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma to clear the daunting UPSC exams. Actor Vikrant Massey has essayed the lead role and has delivered a memorable performance as a student from an underprivileged background, achieving great success through his unbreakable willpower.
