Neel Bhattacharya and Tiyasha Roy’s jodi became a household name after their successful mega serial Krishnokoli on Zee Bangla. To encash their fame, Star Jalsha will soon bring a show with the two as the lead. Created by Susanta Das, the shooting of the serial will start in mid-September.

On August 22, Neel attended the last day of shooting for Uma. the serial will have its last telecast on August 28. Meanwhile, Susanta has already met the officials of Star Jalsha in Mumbai. His several serials, including Ke Apan Ke par, Joyee and Krishnokoli, have already been remade in other languages. Susanta is all set to start his first standalone show for a popular national Hindi channel. According to our sources, he was busy preparing for the show last month.

According to media reports, Susanta has opened a new office in Mumbai. While talking to Anandabazar, he said, “I like to tell stories of the underdogs. The heroine of this serial is somewhat like that. This is a story of a girl from an interior village in Rajasthan. We will show her struggle, journey and victory. My stories generally have a strong love story. The same will happen here.”

August end will see the start of this serial’s shooting in a studio in Andheri, Mumbai, and Jaipur. The protagonist will be played by Niharika Choksi, who previously starred in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The male actor opposite her is not yet finalised.

Bouma Ekghor, Susanta’s latest venture on Star Jalsha, has just ended. The show failed to make a mark on the television rating. Talking about the reason, Susanta said, “The channels have taken a new strategy. The serials must be slot leaders. That means, that if two serials of rival channels are broadcast in the same time slot, then that one with more TRP will survive. In that case, a serial with low TRP can also run, if its rival trails behind.”
