The much-anticipated song Muththa Mazhai was missing from the film Thug Life, adding to the fans’ disappointment with the film. Looks like the makers have heard the audience’s complaint and have now released the video version of the song. Featuring Trisha, the song is sung by Dhee in Tamil.
At the time of Thug Life release, we had reported that the hit song Muththa Mazhai had gone missing, and the audiences were left dejected. The song had gained much popularity among fans, during the audio launch function when Chinmayee, who had sung the Telugu and Hindi versions, had performed onstage. Ever since then, fans have wanted to catch the song at the cinemas, but the final version of Thug Life did not have it.
On Saturday, the makers released the video glimpse of the Muththa Mazhai song. Dhee has sung the song in the Tamil version. The song, along with the Thug Life album, has been scored by AR Rahman. The video shows Trisha's character Indrani, who is a musically inclined character, performing the song onstage, as she is surrounded by dancers. The video is picturised as a stage show, with the dancers performing classical dance.
Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of Thug Life. Directed by Mani Ratnam and featuring Kamal Haasan in the lead role, the actor had earlier said that there will be eight weeks of gap between the theatrical and OTT release. However, now it is reported that the streaming platform is in talks to reduce the duration, given the film did not fare well. An OTT release date is yet to be announced.
The cast of Thug Life includes Simbu, Trisha, Ashok Selvan, Nasser, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi and others. The film revolves around an aged gangster who adopts a small boy during a shootout. However, after many years, the duo stands at a place of conflict.
