In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Aindrita Ray, who is counting down to the release of her film with Pratik Gandhi, Bhavai, on October 22, had told us that her next projects in Hindi were with Vikram Bhatt and his daughter Krishna. While the latter’s is a web series called Sanak – Ek Junoon, which is currently streaming on MX Player, Aindrita’s project with Vikram is a film. Back then, the film was only in discussion, but it seems that the team has firmed up plans now.

According to the latest reports, Aindrita’s film with Vikram is a paranormal subject called Cold. A full-fledged commercial Hindi movie, Cold has Aindrita paired with Akshay Oberoi. Shooting for the film is currently on in Mumbai, she has been quoted as saying. The actress, we hear, has to attend sessions in which the scenes for the day are staged, as if in a theatre production, before the team proceeds for the actual shoot. This, she says, is new even to her, despite her years in cinema and prepares her in advance for what is in store every single day.

For Aindrita, though, another highlight of working with Vikram is that his uncle, veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt drops by on the set every now and then. “You hear so much about legends like Mahesh Bhatt, so when you actually meet them, it’s a dream come true. When he speaks, we all sit like students in rapt attention,” she told a publication.

With all this happening on the career front in Mumbai, does it mean that Aindrita will spend a lot more time there? “Not really. I have been shuttling between Bengaluru and Mumbai because I have been promoting Bhavai. Now that I am shooting for Cold, I am in Mumbai, but otherwise I am more often back home, where I have three upcoming Kannada releases as well, Garuda, Premam Poojyam and a film with Diganth called Kshamisi Nimma Khaatheyalli Hannavilla,” she says.
