Ajay Devgn is all set for the release of Runway 34, his third movie as director. The filmmaker has now talked about how it is important to move with the times in the changing OTT times.

In an interview with Times of India, the actor was asked whether the rise of OTT has changed the dynamics of stardom and if it takes pressure off actors who are expected to do well in the box office.

The actor answered by saying that the pressure is still there but its about getting work. He said that there is pressure because there are a new generation of actors and that you work harder when you see them perform.

“So that’s a good thing. If we step up, we will move with the times, else we will become redundant. If we sit back and say, ‘I know how to do this and I know everything’, then we can’t move ahead.” he said.

The actor added that the newer actors come more prepared, which was not the case when he came to the industry. Also calling the newer generation of actors “far more evolved”, he said that mindset has changed today.

Runway 34 is a thriller drama directed, produced, and starring Ajay Devgn. Also featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, Angira Dhar, and Aakanksha Singh, the thriller is based on true events.

Ajay first helmed U Me Aur Hum in 2008 and then the action drama Shivaay in 2016. Runway 34 is the actor’s third directorial title. The movie is set to hit theatres on April 29.
