Ajith has completed three decades in his acting career, and his fans have been celebrating their matinee idol’s special achievement on social media for the last few days. Fondly referred to as ‘Thala’ by his legions of fans, the superstar’s next outing is H Vinoth’s Valimai, produced by Boney Kapoor. The project was announced in 2019 and his admirers have been impatiently waiting for its first look, which was finally released last month. A motion poster from the film was also released making his fans go berserk. There are speculation that the film is slated for a release on Deepavali, and that it might clash with Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe. Movie buffs and industry insiders are eagerly waiting to see if movies of the two stars will release on the same day again. Rajinikanth’s Petta and Ajith’s Viswasam had clashed on the Pongal season in 2019.
Meanwhile, Ajith who has always maintained a reclusive life, has never forayed into social media platforms as well. On the occasion of him completing 30 illustrious years, he issued a statement through his manager which read, “Fans, Haters & Neutrals are 3 sides of the same coin. I graciously accept the Love from fans, the hate from the haters & the unbaised views of the Neutrals. Live & Let live! Unconditional Love Always!! Ajith Kumar.”
One of the leading stars of Kollywood with several blockbusters to his credit, he was the first in the industry to have abandoned his fan clubs. His salt-and-pepper hairstyle which he first sported for Mankatha in 2011 became a rage among his hardcore fans and youngsters. His choice of films, too, changed in the last decade. The media shy star is said to have stopped accepting grey characters, realizing the influence he has in the society. After Valimai, Ajith is expected to team up with Vinoth again for another project, which is said to be a quickie.
