Vignesh Shivan was excited to the core when he bagged the opportunity to direct Ajith in an untitled project to be bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The announcement was made a year ago and Anirudh was roped in to compose music. The film, tentatively titled AK 62, was supposed to go on floors in January after the release of the star's Thunivu.

However, after several twists and turns, the filmmaker was ousted from the project owing to creative differences that cropped up in the last time. Despite speculation doing the rounds, there weren't any official updates on his exit, though.
Later, there was news about Magizh Thirumeni taking up the film, but again, no announcement was made. Fans of Ajith have been looking forward to an update for a while, and one of the things they are curious about is the project's music director.
Santhosh Narayanan's name surfaced as the composer a while ago amid reports that Anirudh will be retained for the Magizh directorial. The initial plan of Lyca Productions was to release the movie with Vignesh around Deepavali.
Now, the Poda Podi filmmaker has opened up for the first time clearing several confusions once for all. In an interview with a leading entertainment portal, he has revealed that there wasn't any mistake from Ajith's side and that his ouster happened because the production house wasn't satisfied with the second half of his script.
Vignesh also expressed happiness over Magizh bagging the chance and added that he is waiting to watch AK 62. "I will enjoy the movie as an Ajith's fan," he said.
