Akhanda was a smash hit at the box office and made history in Telugu cinema. Now, years later, the sequel is being directed by Boyapati Srinu. The shooting of the film is nearing completion, and Sanjay Dutt will be seen as the main villain.
As the film’s promotions are set to kick off soon, we have learned that the makers have locked in June 10, 2025, as the teaser release date. There is massive hype surrounding this film, as Sri Rama Rajyam and Simha actor Balakrishna is teaming up with Boyapati Srinu for the fourth time. Their previous three collaborations, Simha, Legend, and Akhanda, were all smash hits at the box office.
June 10 is also a special date, as it marks the birthday of Nandamuri Balakrishna, who has delivered super hits like Ruler, Paisa Vasool, and Dictator in the past. Pragya Jaiswal plays the female lead in this film, which is a sequel to Akhanda. The project is being bankrolled by the 14 Reels Plus banner on a massive budget, and sources reveal that Balakrishna has been paid a whopping Rs 30 crore as his remuneration.
Once again, Balakrishna will be seen in a double role, one of which is an Aghora character, a portrayal that was a major highlight in the first part. Boyapati Srinu, known for films like Legend and Sarrainodu, is the only director who has consistently showcased Balakrishna like never before.
Thaman is composing the music for this film. In multiple interviews, he has stated that the film is shaping up superbly and promises that Balayya fans will be in for a treat watching their demigod on the big screen.
Akhanda was a special film for many reasons, notably because Balakrishna played a role true to his age for the first time, and the audience embraced it wholeheartedly.
