Akhanda, directed by Boyapati Srinu, stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Pragya Jaiswal, Jagapathi Babu and Srikanth
The first single from Akhanda, director Boyapati Srinu's much-awaited action entertainer with actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, is out. Titled Adigaa Adigaa, the song composed by the in-form music director Thaman has lyrics by Kalyan Chakravarthy. SP Charan and ML Shruti have lent their voices for the heartwarming melody, featuring the film's lead couple, Balakrishna and Pragya Jaiswal. The lyrical video of the song was released on the popular music label T-Series' Telugu Youtube channel earlier today.
Adigaa Adigaa is a soothing track and an instant earworm that warrants a repeated hearing. The song, going by the lyrics and the lyrical video, is one where the on-screen couple is tying the knot and shares its happiness about being together, acknowledging each other's best qualities. Balakrishna and Pragya Jaiswal are seen having a jolly time on sets while shooting for the number, riding on a bike in the fields, engaging in animated discussions and lending an ear to what the film director Boyapati Srinu has to say as well.
Balakrishna dons formal wear and is seen in a kurta across a few scenes, while Pragya is dressed in multiple costumes, from a sari to a salwar kameez to a kurti and lehengas. The lyrics are beautiful, right from the opening lines that go, 'Adigaa...Adigaa...Pancha Pranalu Nee Raniga...Jathagaa...Jathagaa...Panchu Nee Prema Paaraniga'. Sruthi's controlled rendition and SP Charan's expressive voice make for a delectable combination. Adigaa Adigaa also proves that Thaman is no less a melody maker, even though he's known more for his fast-paced numbers.
Miryala Ravinder Reddy, who has produced films like Saahasam Swasaga Saagipo, Jaya Janaki Nayaka, is bankrolling Akhanda under Dwaraka Creations. Jagapathi Babu and Srikanth play supporting roles in the film where Balakrishna will sport three different looks. Cinematographer C Ram Prasad, art director AS Prakash and well-known editor Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao are part of team Akhanda. Veteran writer M Rathnam has penned the story. The makers were earlier considering a Dussehra release in theatres, though reports suggest they may push the release by a few more weeks.
