One big clash that has the industry talking is Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan. While Aamir is yet to make a public appearance for his film, when Akshay did promote his movie, he was asked about the Box Office clash. The actor, whose films are also suffering post COVID-19 wave, still believes that both the movies can work well at the Box Office.

While talking to the media during Raksha Bandhan’s Tere Saath Hoon Main song launch, Akshay pointed out that it is already Raksha Bandhan when their films release and people will get three to four holidays. “Two films can easily work well during the time period. We lost one and a half year because of COVID, so these things (clashes) are bound to happen,” the actor said.

He also recalled his last clash with Aamir and how that clash didn’t mean anything because both their movies earned well at the Box Office. The films Akshay was talking about were his movie Welcome and Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par.

Both the movies catered to different audiences but were equally loved and are still considered iconic in the actors’ careers. Akshay hopes that like the last time, both Raksha Bandhan and Laal Singh Chaddha work well at the Box Office too.

While Raksha Bandhan is touted to be an original story written by Kanika Dhillon and Himanshu Sharma, Laal Singh Chaddha is the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump. The movie is one of the most acclaimed Hollywood films of all time.

While Aamir Khan will release his first film since Thugs of Hindostan (2018), Akshay has been a part of various films which have also released amidst the COVID-19 lockdown. Unfortunately, all of his films, except Sooryavanshi, did not work at the Box Office, in the post-COVID times. The actor was last seen in Samrat Prithviraj, which also failed to strike a chord with the viewers.
