At the age of just nine, Alia Bhatt was enlisted to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Balika Vadhu. The actress recently recounted getting ready for her role, despite the fact that the movie never really took off.

According to ETimes, Alia said that when the director chose to create the film, she was only about nine years old. She recalls the filmmaker promising her that he could hold off and shoot it when she is a little older, but he later abandoned the project entirely. The fact that it went on to become such a successful television programme hasn't changed the director's belief that he would have not abandoned the idea.

Alia went on to explain that as part of her preparations for the film, she also performed dancing trials on Dola re Dola. Eventually, Bhansali decided against making the movie, and the actress returned to school. Alia further mentioned that she was informed when she started working in movies that the legendary filmmaker only takes actors in the peak of their careers.

Gangubai Kathiawadi, a film by Bhansali that was released earlier this year, featured Alia as the lead. It earned positive feedback from both the audience and the critics.

Alia was last seen in the Jasmeet K. Reen movie Darlings. The film also features Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Matthew in important roles. The premiere of the eagerly anticipated movie Brahmastra, in which she has collaborated with Ranbir Kapoor for the first time ever, is currently something she is anticipating. In the Ayan Mukerji-directed film, Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan, and Nagarjuna will all play significant roles. On September 9, the movie will be made available in theatres.

Alia will also be seen in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani opposite Ranveer Singh. She is also contributing to the Farhan Akhtar-directed film Jee Le Zaraa, which stars Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. With Heart Of Stone, she will also make her Hollywood debut.
