Alia Bhatt reviews Poacher - ‘Powerful storytelling, best show!’

We know that Poacher is a crime drama television miniseries created by Richie Mehta and produced by the renowned Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt. The series features an ensemble cast including Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Kani Kusruti, Ranjitha Menon, and Maala Parvathi. It revolves around forest officials who uncover an ivory poaching ring. The first three episodes premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, and the series is set to debut on Amazon Prime Video on February 23, 2024. Taking to Instagram today, Alia Bhatt shared the first celebrity review on Poacher. She said that ‘Poacher is one of the best shows’ she has seen in a very long time. She said that she felt ‘grateful to be associated with such powerful storytelling that will entertain.’

Also, she lauded the film's cast and crew for their splendid efforts towards the project. She wrote, “With the most fabulous creator #RichieMehta and the outstanding cast… @dibyenduofficial @roshan.matthew, special mention to my most favourite actor of all time, @nimisha_sajayan - we missed you so much yesterday… the beating heart of Poacher!!! Hope you feel better very soon.”

Alia Bhatt and her Poacher connect

On February 5, Bollywood A-lister Alia Bhatt joined Richie Mehta's Amazon original investigative crime series, Poacher, as an executive producer. Alia Bhatt's involvement comes through her production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions. Previously, she made her debut as a producer with the 2022 Netflix film "Darlings," in collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. Bhatt actively advocates for various causes including environmental sustainability, animal welfare, and addressing human-animal conflict through her platform, Coexist. Additionally, she promotes sustainable fashion through her initiative, Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe.
