It all started when Ameesha Patel, who was promoting her film Gadar 2, said that she would never do a film like Jism, which starred Bipasha Basu and John Abraham. She also body-shamed Bipasha over her 'big hips' and said that her grandmother would not approve of such a film.

Bipasha Basu, who was not one to take things lying down, gave a befitting reply to Ameesha's comment on the same show. She said that Ameesha did not possess a body that she could do a film like Jism. She also said that Ameesha was too petite, too small to carry, and her frame was wrong. She added that for a film like Jism, a woman with a total package was needed, not only the body, but also the personality.

The war of words between the two actresses did not end there. They continued to take potshots at each other in various interviews and events. Ameesha Patel once said that she did not consider Bipasha as her competition and that she was happy with her own career choices. She also said that she did not regret turning down films like Raaz and Jism, which were offered to her before Bipasha.

Bipasha Basu, on the other hand, said that she did not care about Ameesha's opinions and that she was proud of her work in films like Jism and Raaz. She also said that she had no issues with Ameesha and that she wished her all the best.

The two actresses never worked together in any film and maintained a distance from each other in public. They also avoided crossing paths at parties and award functions. Their cat-fight became one of the most talked-about feuds in Bollywood.

Recently, Ameesha Patel broke her silence on the controversy and said that her comment was not in bad taste against anyone. Speaking about Jism and Bipasha’s comment, Ameesha told Bollywood Hungama, “I don’t think Basic Instinct is a bad film. Sharon Stone is a goddess. Jism was a fantastic film with great music, great performances. All I am saying is why Bipasha. I am not comfortable being a Sharon Stone. I think it takes guts to be there, be bold physically. I can be called sexy and hot. Am I that comfortable with that amount of boldness and skin show on screen, I am not."

Bipasha Basu has not reacted to Ameesha's latest statement yet. She is currently enjoying motherhood with her daughter Mishti and husband Karan Singh Grover.
