American Star trailer- Ian McShane takes us on a dreamy and deadly adventure, with promise for more

American Star is an upcoming action thriller starring Ian McShane as the protagonist Wilson, as he claims to be in the feature’s trailer which was dropped a few hours ago on YouTube. Directed by Gonzalo López-Gallego and produced by Emu Films, this R-rated film is bound to be a delight for adrenaline junkies.

The film's trailer traces the final assignment of a seasoned assassin, who arrives at Fuerteventura to kill his final, unknown target. However, when he receives intel that his target is delayed by a few days and he has free time on hand, the film’s protagonist begins to unwind, falling back upon his natural habits of meeting new people and visiting new places.

In one of his such leisurely endeavors, does he encounter and bond with an attractive, young woman, Gloria, who sees him as a father-figure. The assassin introduces himself as Wilson. The two even bond on a short trip to the island’s mysterious attraction, the shipwrecked skeleton of American Star, that lies on the other side of the island.

Just as he was enjoying his ‘holiday,’ does the target return, bringing with it the crushing weight of reality. And all this while, ‘Wilson’ was not alone, he had been kept an eye on by his organization, and they were not happy with his new priorities. This poignant action thriller also has touches of deeper philosophy, mystery, and psychology than its initial commercial premise lets on.

Starring Ian McShane, Nora Arnezeder, Adam Nagaitis, Thomas Kretschmann, Fanny Ardant, Oscar Coleman, Andrés Gertrúdix, and Pedro Alberto Galindo, American Star is slated for a limited theatrical release, with a R-rating, in the United States (as of now) on January 26, 2024.
