Rumours were abuzz on social media that Chiranjeevi had asked the makers of Bholaa Shankar to shelve the film this week. However, it turns out that news was false with the team reiterating that the film is very much on and a new schedule of the action entertainer would commence on June 21. Tamannaah plays Chiru’s romantic interest while Keerthy Suresh is cast as his on-screen sister in the film.

Directed by Meher Ramesh, Bholaa Shankar is the official remake of the Ajith, Shruti Haasan starrer Vedhalam and the film’s first look was unveiled on Shivaratri this year. While Tamannaah reprises the role played by Shruti Haasan in the original, Keerthy Suresh steps into the shoes of Lakshmi Menon. The Tamil version was directed by Siruthai Siva.

Raghu Babu, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Ravi Shankar, Vennela Kishore, Tulasi, Pragathi, Sri Mukhi, Bithiri Sathi, Satya, Getup Srinu, Rashmi Gautam, Uttej and Prabhas Seenu form the supporting cast of the film. Anil Sunkara, under AK Entertainments, is bankrolling the film, in collaboration with KS Rama Rao’s Creative Commercials.

Mani Sharma’s son Mahati Swara Sagar has been roped in as the composer, with Dudley handling the cinematography. Writer Satyanand supervises the script with dialogues by Thirupathi Mamidala. Marthand K Venkatesh and AS Prakash are the editor and the production designer respectively. Bholaa Shankar will have a theatrical release in 2022.
