Amitabh Bachchan celebrates Abhishek Bachchan’s Dasvi win at the OTTplay Awards 2022

India’s first ever pan India OTT awards, the OTTplay Awards 2022 made a stellar debut on September 10, Saturday, in Mumbai. The first of its kind OTT awards in the country honoured the best of OTT films and shows to hit the digital space this past year, irrespective of language and genre. Among the winners was Abhishek Bachchan starrer Dasvi. The social comedy won the award for Best Web Original Film (Jury). Amitabh Bachchan joined the film’s makers and fans in celebrating the movie’s win.

A Twitter user shared a post on the social media site to mark the film’s win. Set to the tune of Macha Macha Re, from the film’s soundtrack, the post featured a clip of Abhishek’s character from the film, Chief Minister Ganga Ram Chaudhary. The user congratulated the team behind the film for their win. Amitabh shared the post and captioned it with a resounding ‘YEEESSSSSSS’.

At the awards, the award for the film was presented by Shantanu Maheshwari and Aanchal Singh. The film’s director Tushar Jalota, who made his directorial debut with Dasvi, accepted the award. Nimrat Kaur, who also starred in the film, won the award for Best Debut Female (Film) for her performance in Dasvi as well.

The OTTplay Awards and Conclave 2022 was a star studded event. A number of stars graced the event, from across different language industries. Arya, Priyadarshi, Rajendra Prasad, Pushkar and Gayatri, Kartik Aaryan, Sara Ali Khan, Vidya Balan, Manoj Bajpayee, Guru Somasundaram, Parambrata Chatterjee, Kunal Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma, Raveena Tandon, Masaba Gupta, Farhan Akhtar, Dushara Vijayan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Pa Ranjith, Taapsee Pannu and Neha Dhupia, among others were present at the event.
