Days after the teaser of filmmaker Kunal Kohli’s MX Player Original series Ramyug released, the makers have now unveiled its first song.
A portion of the song was unveiled even when the logo of Ramyug was first revealed. It was then clear that Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has crooned the Hanuman Chalisa.
Watch it here:
Ramyug is, in fact, the first time Bachchan and Kohli collaborated for a project. The track is composed by Rahul Sharma with Ustad Zakir Hussain on tabla. Aman Akshar has penned this version of Hanuman Chalisa.
Bachchan himself took to Twitter to reveal his version on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. Penning lyrics from the version, the actor wrote, “Praying that you and your family members are keeping well. Here’s our take on the devotional song, Hanuman Chalisa.”
The trailer of Ramyug is slated to release on April 29, 2021. The show, as the name suggests, has been inspired by the mythological story Ramayan.
It is still unclear whether Kohli, who had announced Ramyug as a film, has now scrapped his plans and turned the movie into a web series, or whether he would go ahead with both.
The filmmaker had also directed the OTT movie Lahore Confidential, which released on February 4 on ZEE5.
