Ananya Panday and Ranbir Kapoor are new B-Town best friends? Here’s what we know

Ananya Panday posted images of herself and Ranbir Kapoor on her social media accounts on Tuesday, referring to the actor as her "new best friend" and posting two black-and-white images of the two of them. Ananya and Ranbir can be seen in the photos donning Indian-inspired outfits.

She captioned her photos, "new day, new shoot, new best friend, #DostAstra." Several admirers of the actors adored the image and swamped the comment box with heart and fire emoticons.

Meanwhile, on September 9, the movie Brahmastra Part One: Shiva featuring Ranbir and Alia Bhatt was released. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji, has already been becoming popular on social media with users generating various Astra names, among which was developed by Ananya, "Dost Astra." The Astraverse, a brand-new cinematic world, is introduced in Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, the first movie of a series. Along with them, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy play the lead characters in the movie. In the movie, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone both make cameo appearances.

In contrast, Ananya most recently appeared in Puri Jagannadh's Liger, which also starred Vijay Deverakonda, Ramya Krishna, Ronit Roy, and Mike Tyson in the key roles. The movie was made by Dharma Productions, Karan Johar's production company. Actor Vijay made his Bollywood debut in Liger. The movie performed horribly at the box office and earned reviews from critics that were mostly negative.

On the work front, Ananya's next film appearance will be in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav. Arjun Varain Singh will handle the direction of the movie.

Ranbir will appear in the Animal movie, which Sandeep Reddy Vang directed. While Parineeti Chopra was originally cast in the movie, which also features Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna signed on to play her place after Chopra's departure.

Next, Ranbir will be featured in Shraddha Kapoor and Luv Ranjan's unnamed movie.
