However, Kim Cattrall will not be returning as Samantha Jones in the series. The actor was one of the lead stars of the hit series and has a separate fan base.

HBO's groundbreaking series Sex and the City returns with a new chapter in executive producer Michael Patrick King's career trajectory. Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte will be followed as they make their way from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their thirties to the much more complicated reality of life and friendship in their fifties.

Earlier, during an interaction with Vogue, Parker spoke about the casting of the series by stating, "We have some new people, and we have some people who aren’t back any more."

The actor further told the magazine that the writers are skilled at getting the characters, whether they're of colour or not, to recognise the novelty of their situation. Parker said it all fits nicely with the show's well-known tone.

Praising the costumes of the series, the actor shared that the clothes alone are incredible. She concluded by saying that this version of Sex and the City still has plenty of sex.

The series will start streaming on HBO Max on December 9, 2021.
