Animal box office prediction — Ranbir Kapoor's film headed for bumper opening; to earn Rs 40-45 crore

Ranbir Kapoor's Animal is one of the biggest releases of this year. The movie has been directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Also starring Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol, the film is set to release on December 1, 2023. It is headed for a box office clash with Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur. However, Animal is expected to have a thunderous start at the box office. 

Animal Day 1 box office prediction

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh opined that Animal will have a bumper opening at the ticket window. "Animal is leading by leaps and bounds for sure. At the moment, I expect it may open at Rs 40-45 crore and go upto Rs 50 crore as well. However, it is too early to say as single screen and spot bookings will happen on Friday. But the hype is real and I think it is going to take a massive start across the country. It is going to be Ranbir Kapoor like never before," he said.

On the other hand, trade expert Akshaye Rathi is of the opinion that Ranbir's film will mint over Rs 30 crore at the box office on day one. 

"On day one, I expect Animal to go beyond Rs 30 crore, looking at the anticipation, advance booking, and excitement that is there around the film," he said.

Rathi further opined the long duration of the film (3 hours and 21 minutes) is unlikely to affect the audience and box office collection of Animal. "I don't think so! If you look at some of the biggest blockbusters we've had after the pandemic, there was RRR and KGF which came close to 3 hours. People are accepting a great and well-told saga that has a longer duration. So that won't be a problem. I just hope the movie is engaging and entertaining," added Akshaye.

Animal is Sandeep Reddy Vanga's second Bollywood movie. The filmmaker made his directorial debut in Hindi cinema with Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani's Kabir Singh. Despite the box office clash with Sam Bahadur, the Ranbir-Rashmika starrer is all set to create new box office records.

Meanwhile, after the release of Animal, Ranbir had decided to take a break. The actor wants to spend more time with his family, especially his daughter, Raha. Ranbir is married to Alia Bhatt.
