Two days ago, renowned television actor Nakuul Mehta announced on social media that he had recently completed dubbing for the English version of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer "Animal" for Netflix. Nakuul also penned a detailed note sharing his experience working on the film, which emerged as one of the biggest hits of 2023, grossing over Rs 900 crore globally. Today, television actress Samridhii Shukla disclosed that she provided her voice as the dubbing artist for Triptii Dimri's character in the English rendition of Animal.
Taking to Instagram recently, Samridhii penned a long note sharing her excitement about the development. She said, “Wait what?! YES! When I knew I had to voice for this movie, I was elated. I heartily enjoyed every bit of our recording, and hope you watch Animal in English on @netflix_in and enjoy every bit of it too.”
She further outlined the struggles she faced by dubbing in the English version of Animal. She said that during the time of dubbing, she was suffering from a sore throat. However, with the help of her team and those behind the creation of Animal – who helped her relentlessly, she managed to strike the right vocal cords.
Since January 26, the Ranbir Kapoor-led film Animal has been available for streaming on Netflix. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the movie features a star-studded cast including Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri. Despite facing criticism for its problematic depiction of women, misogyny, and explicit violence, Animal, which premiered on December 1, emerged as one of the top-grossing Hindi films of 2023.
We are overjoyed by the response 'Animal' received in theatres and now I am glad that audiences worldwide will get to watch it in the comfort of their homes. The opportunity to showcase our work globally is truly special," Ranbir Kapoor had said in a statement.
