As we all know, Sandeep Reddy Vanga made his Hindi directorial debut with Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. The filmmaker, who has been making headlines for quite some time now for his other controversial film Animal, has now revealed that his first Bollywood hero, Shahid Kapoor, has not messaged him since the release of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. He also revealed how Karan Johar confessed to liking both his controversial films, Kabir Singh and Animal.
Recently, when Vanga was asked about KJo's response to his recent release, considering both directors' filmmaking styles are completely different, he told Siddharth Kanan that Karan sent him a long message on Instagram for Kabir Singh. He said, "He genuinely liked it; even I didn’t expect that he would like Kabir, but when he did, I was expecting that he would love Animal as well, which he did.”
Not just the Dharma owner but Vanga also revealed that his Arjun Reddy actor Vijay Deverakonda also messaged him and said that he 'loved' the film. He said, “We always have this thing that we have to work again, but it’s not like he will immediately call me because my film is a hit. Vijay and I are regularly in touch; we talk on the phone.”
However, when the filmmaker was asked if Shahid Kapoor reached out to him post-release of Animal, he said, “Maybe he still hasn’t seen the film.”
Since Shahid Kapoor starred in Vanga's Kabir Singh, which was also the subject of controversy, it was expected that Shahid would defend his director for Animal. But given that his movie Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is set to hit theatres shortly, it's possible that he chose to remain silent rather than risk causing controversy. Alternatively, it might just mean that he didn't watch the movie.

Last seen in Bloody Daddy, Shahid Kapoor is currently gearing up for the release of his much-awaited film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. The romantic comedy also stars Kriti Sanon and is all set to release in theatres on February 9, 2024.
