In one of our earlier reports, we mentioned that director AR Murugadoss was planning a project Sivakarthikeyan. There were reports that Mrunal Thakur was being considered to play the female lead role in the untitled film. According to a report in TOI, it is now confirmed that the Sita Ramam actress has agreed to be part of the movie.

In fact, she is likely to come on board officially in a week's time. The team was waiting for her to finish her ongoing assignments. The much-hyped project is expected to begin by the end of this year.

Sivakarthikeyan, who has Ayalaan releasing this year, is now busy with the making of Rajkumar Periyasamy's SK 21. The untitled movie bankrolled by Kamal Haasan has Sai Pallavi playing a lead role in it. Maaveeran, the star's last outing, has put up a decent performance at the box office.

There was news that Anirudh might be roped in as the composer for Murugadoss, Siva's film. It looks like it has also been confirmed. An official announcement on the cast and crew is likely to happen later this year. The pre-production activities are already happening, and the movie is billed as one of the biggest in Siva's career.

Interestingly, Sita Ramam completes one year today; the film made Mrunal a household name among cinephiles across the country. The actress recently signed a film with Nani and Vijay Deverakonda.

Meanwhile, the project marks the third collaboration between Murugadoss and Anirudh after Kaththi and Darbar which were released in 2014 and 2020 respectively. It also brings the hit combination of Siva and Anirudh after Don.
