It’s a repeat of Ajagajantharam this year for Malayalam actor Antony Varghese! The actor, who was recently seen in the children’s fantasy sports-drama Aanaparambile World Cup, has another release scheduled later this month with the romantic comedy – Oh Meri Laila.

The film, which is helmed by his college mate and friend Abhishek KS, is writted by Anuraj OB and is set to hit theatres as a Christmas release. Antony took to his social media page to announce when the film will hit theatres.

“Giving a break to action and stunt, we are coming this Christmas to celebrate… Last year on December 23 Ajagajantharam released and this year, it will be Oh Meri Laila,” wrote the actor, sharing a poster from the movie that has him in two different avatars.

The film will have Sona Olickal, who played the female protagonist in Shane Nigam’s Veyil earlier this year, as its heroine along with debutante Nandhana Raja. The movie also has Nandu and Senthil Krishna in pivotal roles. Antony plays the role of a youngster named Lailasuran in the movie.

Meanwhile, Antony has also completed shooting for the comedy entertainer Poovan, which is helmed by Super Sharanya actor Vineeth Vasudevan. The movie is expected to be released in theatres early next year. The team, we hear, is also in discussions with ZEE5 for its OTT rights.

In an earlier interview with us, Vineeth said, “Antony has previously essayed a lot of angry characters. Compared to those films, this will be a simple entertainer. It also has a Christmas backdrop. The movie doesn’t just revolve around his character; it tells the story of those in his neighbourhood.”

Antony is also teaming up with Tinu Pappachan for the third time, in the latter’s directorial Chaaver, which is scripted by Joy Mathew and has Kunchacko Boban and Arjun Ashokan in the lead roles.
