Anupamaa (Rupali Ganguly) sees her first opportunity to go to America but Vanraj (Sudhanshu Pandey) isn't ready for that.

Anupama: Namaste America's story begins 17 years back, when Anupamaa got the first glimpse at an opportunity to go to America. We see Anupama as the typical housewife, who only cares about her husband Vanraj Shah. Instantly, Anupama has a fun moment with Babuji.
Her cruel Baa is back and see where the cruelty came from - moti Baa. The latter is a fan of Anupamaa and we get to see that soon. Anupama supports her Baa in front of moti Baa.
Hrithik Roshan's Ek Pal Ka Jeena hookstep makes it to the first episode. We get to see the ladies' love and it is heartwarming.
Vanraj gets an opportunity to go to America from his office. For that, he has to go to his boss' party with Anupama. He simply doesn't feel that Anupama deserves to go outside the house and is confused about so.
Anupama then talks to her kids - two sons - about going to America because of her dance. We also get to see her getting turned on looking at her husband, proving to what extent she loves him.
The pamphlet where the announcement for going to America was, keeps making its way back to scenes. Vanraj makes excuses to avoid taking Anupama to the party.
Vanraj talks about his promotion which could be due in a day. He ignores his kids for the party and promotion. When his favourite, Baa, is asked to make tea, all she thinks is Anupama has brainwashed badi Baa.
Vanraj meets a new version of Anupama. She has dressed up for him in a way that he couldn't recognize her. While Anupama asks Vanraj to take her to the party, he refuses stating she will embarass him. Anupama breaks down upon hearing that and somehow, Vanraj convinces Anupama that he should go alone. Thus, he leaves without her, almost shattering her dream to go the the US.
