The first part of Viduthalai, directed by Vetri Maaran, hit the screens on March 31. The movie based on the novel Thunaivan penned by Jeyamohan opened to positive response from moviegoers and critics alike. Soori plays the lead in the project which has been produced by Elder Kumar.

The actor's performance, presence of Vijay Sethupathi, hard-hitting screenplay, visuals by Velraj and music by Ilaiyaraaja earmed praise from the audience. The team is expected to announce the release date of its second part after the OTT premiere of first part. It is likely to be released on Zee5 in a week's time.

Anurag Kashyap was one among the few who heaped praise on the film after its release. He is now seen posing for a photo along with Vetri, Soori, Sethupathi, GV Prakash, Rajiv Menon and Gautham Menon, Rajiv and Gautham played crucial roles in the movie while GV was the music composer of the Bollywood filmmaker's Gangs of Wasseypur.

GV himself took to his Twitter page to post the picture featuring many legends and captioned it "A picture to remember". He was the composer of a few projects Vetri helmed in the past, like Asuran, Polladhavan and Aadukalam.

Interestingly, Anurag will be seen sharing screen space with Vijay Sethupathi in Maharaja, the shooting of which is currently underway. The two of them were seen in Imaikaa Nodigal helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu in 2018. However, they were not featured in any sequence together.

The Nayanthara-starrer crime drama marked the acting debut of Anurag in Kollywood. His role of a menacing antagonist won rave reviews from critics back then.
