Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai has been garnering appreciation ever since it hit the screens a week ago. Film buffs are now waiting for the movie's second part which is likely to be released later this year. A few celebs, including the likes of Anurag Kashyap, were heaping praises on the hard-hitting movie.

Now, none other than Rajinikanth has joined the list of those who are admiring the film. He took to his Twitter page to say that Viduthalai boasts of a plot which Tamil cinema has never attempted. He was awestruck with Soori's performance and said that Ilaiyaraaja has once again proved his expertise in music.

The Superstar then termed Vetri Maaran as the pride of Tamil cinema and congratulated the movie's producer, too. A few pics of Rajinikanth spending time with Vetri, Soori and producer Elred Kumar are going viral on social media.

Fans of Rajinikanth are thrilled with the unexpected tweet coming from their matinee idol. They are elated that the Jailer star never fails to appreciate good films and inspiring performances. Makers are hopeful of his words of praise doing wonders for the film in the coming days.

Vijay Sethupathi, Bhavani Sre and Gautham Vasudev Menon among others played crucial characters in Viduthalai which has cinematography by lensman-turned-filmmaker R Velraj. The movie is based on the novel Thunaivan written by B Jeyamohan. The screenplay and making of the film have been receiving praise from cinephiles from day one.

Vetri Maaran is expected to begin the shooting of Vaadivaasal, starring Suriya in the lead, after the release of Viduthalai Part 2. He has a project with Dhanush, too, in the pipeline.
