AR Rahman reveals the secret behind the popular Saaya Sanjale song bit from Ponniyin Selvan 1

After the release of Ponniyin Selvan 2, AR Rahman was flooded with questions about when he would be unveiling the OST of the franchise helmed by Mani Ratnam. He promised that it will be done after the second installment completes 100 days of its release.

The 32-minute OST track featuring 16 sound bits from Ponniyin Selvan 1 was released a few days ago. Fans of the musician have been going gaga over the instrumentation of the various tracks for the last few days. The other day, Rahman took to his Twitter page to inform that Ponniyin Selvan 2's OST is on the way. 

He asked his followers about their favourite track from PS 1 and requested to come up with a reason for the same. One of them replied by saying that "Saaya Sanjale" is his favourite. According to him, Nakul Abhyankar's voice is what impressed him and he felt that the arrangements are world-class.

Rahman replied to the post thanking him and revealed something which most of us were clueless about. He said that the track was made for Tiger Shroff's Heropanti 2. However, the makers felt that the song bit was too classical for the movie. 

Later, "Mani sir took and fit it in so beautifully," added Rahman, leaving his fans delighted and surprised. They are now eager to know when Rahman is going to unveil the track from PS 2.

Mani Ratnam's next project is with Kamal Haasan. Tentatively titled KH 234, the movie is likely to be bankrolled by Raaj Kamal Films International. Rahman is going to compose for a Kamal-starrer after more than two decades.
