Pavail Gulati is rumoured to have landed a new project just a few weeks after playing the lead in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's Faadu (2022). According to rumours, the actor will work on a Karan Johar project with Ananya Panday. For the project, which is anticipated to launch later this year, the director will be chosen in the upcoming weeks.

A source told Mid Day that the coming-of-age scenario in the movie called for a novel pairing. The producers thought it would be interesting to have Pavail and Ananya share screen time because they come from different schools of film.

Since she made her acting debut in Student of the Year 2 (2019), Panday has been Dharma Productions' blue-eyed girl. Liger and Gehraiyaan (2022) were her follow-ups. Except for a cameo in Kalank (2019), the upcoming movie will be Gulati's first collaboration with Johar.

The source added that before agreeing to the initiative in December, Pavail met with the team several times. The creators have not yet decided on the date for the official announcement.

Meanwhile, when OTTplay had asked Pavail what kind of genres he would like to explore in movies, the actor had said that having performed in Goodbye, he could say that he did comedy for the first time and enjoyed doing it greatly. It was a ton of fun, and even though he was initially quite scared, the actor felt like he could have done a better job.

But now Pavail believes he can do it more effectively. So he believes he would like to delve a little deeper into that genre. However, he doesn't have a particular kind of project in mind. It's more like, regardless of the genre, when he likes a script, he likes a script. But yes, he would like to experiment with comedy, and the idea of doing that truly interests him.
