MasterChef India
MasterChef, a cooking reality TV show created by Franc Roddam, has successfully launched some of the most celebrated chefs in the world for over 3 decades. Just like any singing and dancing reality show, the British culinary competition has become so famous that several other countries have their own versions of MasterChef, like MasterChef Australia, MasterChef India, and 40 others. The original show aired from 1990 to 2001 on BBC One. Local or restaurant chefs, and even home kitchen masters, can participate in the reality show. The contestants are judged by popular celebrity chefs.
Indian Idol
Debuted in 2004, this singing reality show is the most celebrated competitive show in India. Many top Bollywood singers, including Neha Kakkar, Abhijit Sawant, Monali Thakur, Shreya Ghoshal, Nakash Aziz, and Rahul Vaidya, were participants on the show. The singing reality show is the Indian adaptation of American Idol (since 2002), which itself is the adaptation of British Pop Idol (since 2001). Vaibhav Gupta from Kanpur won the 2024 edition of Indian Idol. He took home Rs 25 lakh and a Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
