Arunachal Pradesh’s Environment and Forest Minister Mama Natung has launched SpaceM, an OTT media service application for Space Miracle Studios. The film studio is based in Itanagar and has given opportunities to extremely talented regional filmmakers.
Natung applauded Space Miracle Studios’ effort to bridge the gaps for regional filmmakers and secure a larger audience for them. “This initiative will prove to be a big platform for the state’s filmmakers wherein they can showcase their talents and also earn revenue,” said Natung about SpaceM at the event held at the Space Miracles Studio’s office on April 9.
Managing Director of Space Miracle Studios, Alison Welly, explained that the app will be available to download for Android and iOS. The application will offer streaming services for movies and webseries on a pay-per-view basis.
“The SpaceM app tends to boost the filmmakers and interest groups of the State to showcase their talents by enabling them to reach out to their targeted audiences, and they will also be able to earn for their work,” said Welly.
SpaceM will also be organising the first SpaceM Short Film Competition in May 2021 in order to promote the culture of filmmaking in Arunachal Pradesh. The SpaceM app is a huge step towards digitisation for the State.
